Dragonflies! Who doesn't like dragonflies? Well, I suppose most people don't really give much consideration to dragonflies, which is a shame because dragonflies are awesome! Dragonflies are excellent predators that live on every corner of the globe (except Antarctica, as you might reasonably assume) and are great at keeping the population of mosquitos in check. Really, dragonflies do us a service! They go around, swooping annoying and disease-carrying insects out of the sky like hawks, while leaving humans alone.

Dragonflies are a staple of hot summer days in my home of North Carolina, especially around lakes and rivers, and I really shudder to imagine how many mosquitos and flies there would be without them. Plus, they just look awesome, like c'mon, it's a dragonfly for a reason. Show some appreciation to the dragonflies you see around. They make your life better, they look awesome, and they don't hurt you at all. I don't exactly know how you show appreciation to a dragonfly but still, it's the thought that counts, right?
